The ascent to the monastery of Virgin Mary “Tsampika" is tedious, but from that height you see with the breath cut the beauties of Rhodes Island. Looking at the North appears the immense beach of the municipality of Afantou with the white low houses, maintains a particular character and its residents their spontaneity. More southerly is distinguished Kolympia area, with its own beautiful sandy beach. Precisely, under the imposing rock, unfolds immense the beach of Tsampika with the golden sand and aquamarine waters. One of the most enchanting resorts of Rhodes island, that combines the beauty of nature with the cultural heritage, is considered the region of Lindos. RHODES WORTH TO SEE
Apart from the Castle many are the surprises that holds in the visitor also in the northwestern side of Rhodes. Going down to the South in the region of Kalamonas, we find the butterflies valley, that is the unique biotope of butterfly "PANAXIA QUATRIPUNCTARIA". Finally we make one more stop at the ruins of ancient Kameiros and there we leave the sounds of the Glory past of Rhodes to sound in our ears. The open embrace of Ialisos gulf constitutes an ideal resort for vacations also. The sea is a challenge for the bigot's of sports, but also for those who wish simply to relax and enjoy the dew.
Filerimos hill, with the ruins of ancient Acropolis of Ialisos, and the Abbey of Virgin Mary, dominates the region and constitutes place unique for pleasant walks. From there you admire an amusement sunset.
