BEACHES
What characterises the famous Greek coasts is their unique diversity. The eastern coasts offer a calm sea, a variety of marine sports, a multitude of reek recipes and the famous Greek wine in small fish-taverns. From there, they can have excursions on traditional fishing-boats to secluded bays or enjoy a romantic rowing-boat trip under the full moon. The western coasts offer vast sandy beaches but also the fascinating bays of Paleokastritsa, shaping among the rocky cliffs, that actually come down to the sea. There are many organised beaches in the country providing high-quality services (umbrellas, reclining chairs, changing booths, cafes, bar-restaurants etc), where, apart from swimming, you can enjoy water sports (water ski, windsurfing, diving etc) as well as other means of having fun in the water, such as the parachute for one or
two persons, “tyres” and the “banana”, pedalo, jet ski etc. All organised beaches also have lifeguard towers ensuring safe swimming in the area. Many of Corfu beaches are awarded with the Blue Flag of the European Union. |
